Alpine Linux

Alpine Linux

Alpine Linux è un sistema operativo orientato ai routers, firewalls, VPNs, box VoIP e servers, funzionando su hardware x86. E’ stato progettato con la sicurezza in mente: utilizza PaX e SSP per prevenire buchi di sicurezza. Utilizza BusyBox come interfaccia grafica.

Versione 3.4.0

Questa versione contiene (in Inglese):

Some of the new features are:

  • Linux 4.4 kernel.
  • New iso image for virtual machines: alpine-virt.
  • Improved support for the Raspberry Pi ecosystem.
  • Support for DNS search domains in /etc/resolv.conf.
  • ruby 2.3.
  • postgresql 9.5.

Noteworthy changes in the upgrade:

  • PHP packages have been renamed from php to php5.
  • The service cron has been renamed to crond.

  • Most ruby-* packages have been removed. You should use gem instead.

Desktop applications that have been upgraded in v3.4 include:

  • evince 3.20
  • libreoffice 5.1
